
The National Telly Competition, which recognizes
excellence in the creative media, has recently awarded Make Believe Production's
along with Fifth Column Production's Cesses Mortels De Soupirer with "Best
Music Video" in the nation. With all filming done at the Michigan Renaissance
Festival in Holly, the production boasts a village of sixteenth-century
era buildings, armored knights in a full contact joust, and a wide array
of authentic costumes. the story revolves around a romantic commoner who
falls for the fairest maiden in his village. Owain Phyfe with L'Ensemble
Josquin's album Sweet was the Song, one of Harmony House Classical's top
ten selling CDs for over 1 full year, provides the musical backdrop with
it's hauntingly beautiful melody.
With a credit list including some of Michigan's top
filmmakers, the behind-the-scenes crew is no less impressive. Producer
and director on the video is Berkley, MI native Jamin Fite, who has gathered
his experience from making very successful television productions and commercials.
His show Medieval World has won awards for "Best Series", "Best Teleplay",
"Best Student Production" and "Outstanding Production" as well as being
second place in the nation for "Best Drama." Fite has also directed a short
film entitled 'A Lord of His Own' with John Prusak of Roger & Me.
Co-Producer and editor on the film is David E. Baker
of Make Believe Entertainment Inc., whose producing credits include the
full length feature film, The Incorporated, which has just sold 33 countries
worldwide at Cannes '97, an Emmy Award Winning Fox television promo, and
several music videos starring such celebrities as Miss America '89. His
creative achievements have also earned him two Tellys and the Award for
Creative Excellence.

Accomplished cinematographer Anthony "Spike" Simms,
is director of photography. His experience includes working on many Michigan
films, including 'Presumed Innocent', 'Lost on the Bohemian Road', 'Mosquito',
'Hellmaster', the World War two drama 'One Room Castle', Stardust, and
the television shows Unsolved Mysteries and America's Most Wanted. The
cinematographer who helped bring the Renaissance back to life in Cesses
Mortels, Simms is renown thoughout the industry for his expertise in period
productions.
