Here's a special bulletin for everyone who fell in love with Lagrimas de Sangria, Nightwatch Recording's recently released collection of "canciones hispanoamericanas" by singer Owain Phyfe. ...And the news is this:
There are more canciones (songs, that is) on the way.
"Rio, Charry, and I had so much fun putting together Lagrimas'.... There's just too much beautiful South American and Mexican repertoire not to do a second album," announced Phyfe. However, In answer as to when listeners might expect disc two, Phyfe was less candid. "No date has been set. There's a lot to do and we're determined not to rush the project. My guess is 2009."
Well, here's what we do know: Cantiga artists Bob Bielefeld, Martha Gay, Max Dyer, Alex Korolov and Charry Garcia will, of course, be featured on the recording, along with Rio Blue, Stefano Pando, Sasha Raykov, and a guest cast of many more. In addition to Spanish repertoire from Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia, and Peru, the selection list, so far, also includes songs in Portuguese (Brazil) and Lunfardo, an Argentinian dialect. ...So, keep the sangria handy and stay tuned, Amigos.    (Photos below)
